MEDIATION AND ALTERNATIVE DISPUTE RESOLUTION

Mel Blackburn is an Accredited Mediator from the School of Psychotherapy and Counselling at Regent's College, London, which is approved by the Law Society. Experience in working with Human Resource Departments, Trade Unions, the Legal Profession and SENDIST Tribunals are typical examples of work undertaken. Mediation is a confidential, voluntary process aimed at getting parties to resolve disputes when direct negotiations have failed. It can sometimes offer better solutions than litigation with fewer costs.

COACHING FOR PROFESSIONALS AND PARA-PROFESSIONALS

Leadership and Management Teams in a variety of settings are aware of the benefits of coaching for staff in their organisation. Following clarification of roles and responsibilities, staff can be empowered to set personal and professional goals which enhance their performance in the workplace. Coaching is now considered to be one of the most powerful professional development tools in education. Individually, it can help staff to discover their potential and improve their contribution to meeting targets for the team as a whole.

TRAINING AND CAPACITY BUILDING

Bespoke in-house training can be negotiated for groups of parents, governors, teachers, teaching assistants, professional bodies and voluntary associations. Course applicants may need to have permission from their senior management teams to attend. Rates are available on request and will reflect the number of course participants.
